What equipments and gears do you need?

Plan and browse what are the essential equipments that you might need while visiting Nepal which might definitely depend on the trip package you choose to go for. And, do not take too much and buy unnecessary climbing equipments which may be useless.

For two trekkers, Escape Himalaya provides 1 porter to carry your baggage and the maximum weight limitation is around 25 kg from two trekkers.

The following equipment checklist would help you do packing for all kinds of our trips. However, you should decide on your own what to carry and what not to.

All-purpose Equipments
  • Light and expedition weight thermal tops
  • Fleece jacket or pullover
  • Waterproof shell jacket
  • Fleece wind-cheater jacket (optional)
  • Lightweight thermal gloves
  • Lightweight cotton long trousers/pants
  • Underwear (4)
  • Shorts (2)
  • Light and expedition weight thermal bottoms
  • Sun hat or scarf
  • T-shirts (2)
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Sleeping bag rated to 0 degrees (3/4 season)
  • Thin, lightweight (inner socks) (4)
  • Head lamp with spare bulbs & batteries
  • Small padlock to lock trek bag
  • Plastic bags – for keeping items dry inside trek bag
  • Camping mattress
  • Water bottles (2)
  • Daypack (35-40 liters /2500-3000 cubic inches)
  • Toiletries
  • Basic First Aid Kit
  • Waterproof trousers/pants (preferably breathable fabric)
  • Small wash towel
  • Footwear suitable to the trip
Additional Equipments for trekking/ mountaineering
  • Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer
  • Wool or Fleece trousers or pants
  • Hiking or Trekking boots with extra laces
  • Footwear for around camp (slippers)
  • Thick, warm wool hiking socks (4)
  • Gaiters (optional) to keep your feet warm
  • Crampons with front points (if possible step-in bindings)
  • Mountaineering harness.
  • Mountaineering ice-axe (depending on your height)
  • Climbing sling – 120cms (4ft) and 2 locking carabiners
  • Prussik loops
  • Telescopic ski-sticks (optional)
Basic First Aid Kit
  • Plasters/Band-aids
  • Bandage for sprains
  • Iodine or water filter (optional)
  • General painkiller
  • Antiseptic cream for cuts
  • Moleskin/Second skin – for blisters
  • Anti-bacterial throat lozenges
  • Broad-spectrum antibiotic
  • Oral rehydration salts
  • Anti-diarrhea medication/ Diarrhea stopper
  • Diamox (for altitude sickness)
  • Sterile Syringe set
  • Medium sized towel (1)
  • Toothbrush/ toothpaste
  • Multipurpose soap
  • Face and body moisturizer
  • Small mirror
  • Deodorant
