Annapurna Poon Hill Trek

Annapurna Poon Hill Trek

The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is a short trekking option in the Annapurna Region that lets you excurse the north-western acreages of Pokhara. It is one of the most beautiful trekking trails and is utterly mesmerizing in its ethereal beauty. Observing the settlements occupied by Gurung and Magar people, the villages present many temples and monasteries; the pious ambiance of the religious sites providing tranquility to the serene trekking trails. The infinite sub-tropical valleys at the base of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountain ranges are absolutely fascinating and present a picturesque sight for the eyes. The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek takes you through verdant hills and terrains encompassed with the natural quintessence of blooming florescent presence of rhododendrons and foxgloves, ornamented spectacularly by the vegetation of pine, oak, birch and juniper trees. The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is also dubbed as the Annapurna Panorama Trek because of the beguiling views of the panoramic vistas of the Annapurna ranges and its many surrounding peaks. The most famous and exquisite part of the trekking journey is the absolutely breath-taking view of the rising sun from the vantage point at Poon Hill; the manifestation of the sun ascending into the cyan sky changing the celestial colors of the atmosphere and breathing life into everything is simply indescribable. The slow ascend of the sun from behind the Annapurna ranges and the envelopment of the ivory snow of the mountains into molten gold and burning saffron from the sun is heavenly and divine.

Driving to the lake-side city of Pokhara from Kathmandu, the Annapurna Poon Hill Trek begins with passing through terraced farms brimming with agriculture of rice and mustards, rural settlements in the bosom of isolated areas, and amazing views of Mountain peaks like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Lamjung Himal, and many more. Trudging through the opulent forests of blooming rhododendrons that provide a florescent canopy on the trail, you will reach Ghorepani.

Our Annapurna Poon Hill trek provides beautiful panoramic views of the mountains like Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre and many more. Hiking to the village of Ghandruk, however, is one of the most exciting aspects of the trek. Bewildering Trek to Paradise!

    5

The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek is one of the most beautiful trekking journeys I have ever been in. Arranging the trip with Escape Himalaya, I had the most smoothest and easiest trekking experiences! Needless to really elaborate much because the region and the destination says it all itself, I had one of the best terrains presented to me. Escape Himalaya is the best agency and the people were all so kind and humble, making our communication via mail super fast and prompt and extremely informative. Providing me with equipments of duffel bag, down jackets and sleeping bags, Rajendra made sure that I had all of the necessary equipments and checking if my items were appropriate for the trekking days. Then as the day arrived, I was greeted very warmly at the airport and transferred to my Hotel.

Going to Pokhara, Rajendra made the journey really fun with his tidbits about the land and the villages and easy flow of conversations. I have really fond memories in my head of a peaceful boat ride at Pokhara and getting lost in the tranquil atmosphere. One of the absolute best highlights of the trek was going to Poon Hill at 4 in the morning to look at the sunrise and when the soft rays hit the mountains, to me it looked like a huge mushy marshmallows being cooked and reminded me of glass blowing because the whole scene was just so mesmerizing! It is so totally worth it to just have this journey just to look at that sight!

From Ghorepani, the village of Ulleri and Tada Pani, the whole trekking was done with such ease that for a fleeting moment, I didn’t wanted it to end at all. One of the best trekking journeys with one of the best travel agencies functioning today. My full and heartfelt recommendation to everyone who is looking for a good travel agency for spending time in Nepal.

    Wonderful Trekking to Poon Hill

    5

The Annapurna Poon Hill Trek was recommended to me by my friend we had done the same trekking journey with Escape Himalaya during this time of last year. Well, with my free vacation and holiday time coming up and with my incessant need to get away from the busy sedentary life that my everyday time had become, I finally accepted and came to terms with the fact that trekking to this far off country of Nepal might not be such a bad idea after all. So, packing my bags and making arrangements, me and my fried decided to come to Nepal and have a look and trek on the mountains. being an amateur trekker (if I can even call myself that, really) I had no experience whatsoever regarding trekking, but that is where the team and staff of Escape Himalaya came into the equation. We had prior discussions before about the trek, lots of them too. i asked them all of my queries and questions via mail, and their prompt replies and their information regarding everything I wanted to know was done with great planning and professionalism. Finally, as March came, the time for my first ever trekking experience came with it. I was going to Poon Hill!

The Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek, as explained to me by Rajendra, the guide who accompanied me on my trek, was one of the most easiest (or rather moderate) trek for beginners. Speaking true to his words, the trek wasn’t all that hard to do. I managed to trek to the vantage point at Poon Hill quite fairly and the views of the Annapurna mountain from that vantage point was spectacular, as was expected. The weather was lovely, the birds and the flora were in their full natural exuberance and the mountains loomed up in the distance and all was well. It was then I realized what a nice alternative this was to me just basically wasting my time doing mundane things back home during my holidays. This was, in a broader sense of the words, satisfying and worth-while.

Lastly, Escape Himalaya did a fabulous job with me, i have to emphasize. The whole experience was new and surprising- having to trek, the villages, the people, even the accommodation, but that was what made everything better. The white mountains, the Nepali ambiance, the food- all lovely alternative chances to my hometown and my regular life. Escape Himalaya is the first travel agency I worked with, and their services were satisfactory and up to par with what i wanted and what I expected. Maybe, if everything goes in good ways again, I might come back to nepal and i am most definitely going with Escape Himalaya all the way!
