Island Peak Climbing begins as we fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and walk along the trail passing the large settlement of Chaurikharka village as well as wooded regions and vegetated acreages. The region is brimming with alpine woods and lush verdant forests that envelope the terrain in their natural emerald canopy. We will also walk along the trail passing through the meeting point of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers to the popular Sherpa village and the center of the Khumbu region, Namche Bazaar. During the acclimatization day, we will experience a short hike to the Everest View Hotel which presents splendid sceneries of Everest, Ama Dablam and a number of other mountain peaks.

Passing by the destinations and dainty settlements like Dole and Machhermo, we will witness the emergence of a series of different Gokyo Lakes at the mountains which present a cerulean treasure-like quiddity to the travelers. They posses within them the most mesmerizing effect, their waters glimmering in the snowy enclosure of the Himalayas. The lakes also have a very interesting history and lore behind their origins and are considered holy by the Hindu people. Walking to Gokyo RI (5360m), the stunning views of mountain peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-Oyu among many others will captivate you. Then, we will make way to Everest Base Camp (5364m) -the foot of Mount Everest, which rewards you with awesome landscapes blanketed by confetti-like ivory snow and slated terra firma the shades of frozen dragon-fire. We will also walk to Kala Pathar (5545m) for splendid sunrise views over gigantic Himalayas. Then, we will make way to the summit of Island Peak Base Camp, walking on a twisting path beneath the southern face of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier before reaching it.

  • Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu

    You will meet our airport representative from Escape Himalaya as soon as you reach Tribhuwan International Airport. And, you will be transferred to the hotel. You will prepare for the trek and relax in the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 02: Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2652m/8699ft), Duration: 3-4 Hours

    We will fly to Lukla on this day from Kathmandu and our trek begins. We will move down progressively, passing the large settlement of Chaurikharka village set at the altitude of 2680m and pass along the trails adjacent to some other villages as well along with lush verdant woodland acreages. We will also go across Dudh Koshi River before reaching Phakding. Overnight stay at the Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11283ft)

    We will set off from Phakding and pass by vibrantly brimming wooded areas of rhododendrons, magnolias and fir trees. The area during spring will be full of budding rhododendron flowers. We will also pass by Jorsale (2,805m) and walk along the trail passing the meeting point of Dudh Koshi and the Bhote Koshi Rivers. We will then climb for some time and get the first sight of Everest if weather favors. Ascending more, we will reach Namche Bazaar, a thriving Sherpa village and the central hub of the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at the guesthouse in Namche Bazaar after trekking for about 6 hours, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 04: Namche Bazar and Everest View Hotel

    We will acclimatize for a day at Namche Bazaar to avoid altitude sickness. We can have a short and rewarding hike to Everest View Hotel which presents splendid sceneries of Everest, Mount Ama Dablam and a number of other peaks. We may also leisurely stroll to Khumjung, where we can visit the monastery as well. We will then make our way back to Namche again. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 05: Namche to Dole (4200m/13776ft)

    From Namche Bazaar, we will move ahead to Dole lying at 4200m. En-route, we will pass through wooded forests of pine and rhododendron trees. We will also perceive stunning cascades of flowers blooming at wide green meadows and trudge along yak pastures during our stroll. Striking views of Mount Khumbila and Tawache (6542m) will also welcome us on the way. Overnight stay at the guest house after trekking for around 5 hours, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 06: Dole to Machhermo (4400m/14432ft)

    We will have a rather easy day today and will stroll down to the river and pass across it via the wooden bridge. After walking for an hour, we will get to Luza (4390m). Then, the path moves up beside the valley and moves crossways through grazing lands and passes by chortens decorated with prayers flags. We will also observe captivating views of the eastern part of the Gokyo valley, and the views of peaks like Toboche and Cholatse emerge before we arrive at Machhermo valley. The sights are mesmerizing and wonderful to look at. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 07: Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4700m/15416ft), Duration: 4 hrs

    We will walk up to the edge of the settlement for an excellent view of the valley and then we will walk downward to the river bank before climbing to the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier Earth. We will also pass through a bridge over a river and go by Longpongo, the first lake amongst the series of Gokyo Lakes lying at the elevation of 4690 m. We will walk ahead and see the second lake, the Toboche Tsho. To capture the sights of the third lake, we will go further and afterward, the Lake Dudh Pokhari appears. The mesmerizing effect of the beautiful blue waters manifold with the rays of the sun, as the light shimmers on the surface of the water-bodies. We will moreover see the Gokyo village situated next to the third lake. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 08: Hike to Gokyo RI (5360m/17880ft), Duration: 4 hrs

    We will have another day to rest and get acclimatized at the Gokyo Village. We can also experience a hike to Gokyo RI today. The Himalayan panorama and the scenes of serene Gokyo lakes will enchant you. We may also trek to the fourth as well as the fifth Gokyo lakes. The stunning views of Mahalangur Himalaya Range including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-Oyu among many others will fascinate you. After that, we will walk back to Gokyo Village. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 09: Goyo to Thangna (4700m/15416ft), Duration 2-3 hrs

    Taking approximately 3 hours, on this day, we will trek to Thangna, which is set 4700m high. From Gokyo Village, we will stroll to Thangna, a small settlement which rewards you with the peak vistas like Machhermo peak and some more. Overnight stay at the Guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 10: Cross Cho La pass (5420/1780ft) then trek to Dzongla (4830m/15842ft), Duration: 7-8 hrs

    We will, on this day, begin our walk on the vertical path to Chola Pass which is set at the height of 5420m. We will also pass the freezing path all along the Chola glacier after passing through the pass. We need to begin trekking early in the morning to traverse the pass so that we can avoid bad weather conditions. As you get to the top, you will be rewarded by the splendid views of the mountains, and after that- we will move down to the Dzongla. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 11: Trek to Lobuche (4910m/16105ft), Duration: 4 hrs

    On this day, we will trek to Lobuche, which takes around 4 hours. This is a quite challenging day and we need to walk to the altitude of 4910 m. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 12: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m/17594ft) & back to Gorekshep (5181m/16994ft), Duration: 8 hours

    We will depart from Lobuche, and walk to Everest Base Camp, 5364m (the foot of Mount Everest). From the Base Camp, the views of Everest, Lingtren, Mount Pumori, Mahalangur, Khumbutse, and Mount Nuptse will captivate us with their ivory quiddities. We will spend an awesome time at the base camp, taking in all of the sights. Then, we will return to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 13: Hiking to Kalapattar (5545m/18187ft) - Gorekshep – Dingboche (4410m/14464ft), Duration: 7 hours

    From Gorakshep, we will walk to Kala Pathar in the morning to observe the splendid sunrise view over Mt. Everest. In addition, the amazing views of Nuptse, Lhotse, Changtse, and other peaks will fascinate you with their vigilance. At Kala Pathar, you will spend some satisfying time looking at the mountains, then walk down to Gorakshep from where we will trek further to Dingboche. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 14: Dingboche to Island Peak Base Camp (5240m/17187ft), Duration: 6 hours

    We will, on this day, walk ahead from Gorekshep to Dingboche. From Dingboche, we will make an easy walk following the Imja Valley. On the way, the stunning views of Mount Ama Dablam will welcome us and we will follow the moraines that run from Lhotse lying 8501m high. Also, we need to walk on a twisting path beneath the southern side of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier before reaching the Island Peak Base Camp. At the Base Camp, we will prepare for the trek. Our guides will teach peak-climbing skills and using climbing equipments such as ice axes, crampons, harness, ascender and using ropes. Overnight at Island Peak Base Camp, full board meals included.

  • Day 15: Island Peak Base Camp to summit Peak (6189m/20300ft) and back to Chhukung 10 – 11 hours

    We will begin early in the morning to reach the summit of Island Peak and avoid bad weather conditions. Then, walking ahead through steep hillside paths, you will be emerging to a grassy area before hiking further to a change of terrain now becoming a rock strewn area. We will also pass the narrow and sloped trail which enters a vertical rock canal. The trail also takes you along a ridgeline to an exciting path where you will traverse the tip of the summit glacier. On the way, the guides will guide you to use a rope whenever required. After spending an amazing time at the peak, we will descend to Chhukung. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 16: Reserve day for contingency

    The climate, while walking to Island Peak, can be quite uncertain to pinpoint. You may have to face windy weather. Therefore, spare days are necessary to be planned. Plus, this day we will also let you acclimatize properly with the high altitude environment. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 17: Trek to Namche (3440m/11283ft), Duration: 7 hours

    We will, on this day, walk all the way through the wide gorge of the Khumbu River and pass by stunning Sherpa settlements of Orsho as well as Shomare. We will also walk through a scenic village of Pangboche bordered by Everest to the north, the Kongdi range to the south, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Kangtega to the east and the Imja Tse River pouring through the broad lush valley. On the way, we will also get the chance to visit the Tengboche Monastery and walk through the hillside covered by rhododendron and juniper woods. Then, walking on an easier trail, we will reach Namche. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 18: Trek to Lukla (2800m/9184ft), Duration: 7 hours

    We will walk ahead from Namche to Lukla on this day, passing through the Dudh Koshi River. After that, we will wander to Monjo. Moving ahead, we will get to Phakding and then we will arrive at Lukla. Overnight stay at the guest house, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu

    After experiencing the awesome moments of Everest Base Camp Trek and the Island Peak Climbing, we will fly back to Kathmandu, which takes 30 minutes. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 20: Leisure day

    This is a day to calm down in Kathmandu. You can stroll around Kathmandu or go for shopping. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

  • Day 21: Farewell

    You will be dropped off at the airport by one of the representatives from escape Himalaya today, from where you will depart.
