Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
As you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be greeted by one of Escape Himalaya’s representatives. You will then be driven to your hotel where you can check in and relax as you have nothing else planned for the day. The representative will also explain the program further to you. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tours
You will experience the Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tours on this day and go around Bouddhanath Stupa, the largest stupa on the earth; Pashupatinath Temple, a key temple for Hindus dedicated to Lord Shiva; the Kathmandu Durbar Square dappled with temples having exclusive arts; and the Swayambhunath Stupa, the Monkey Temple located serenely at a hill presenting striking views and amazing experiences. Also, you will need to acquire a Chinese Visa on this day. Overnight stay at the hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa
We will, on this day, fly from Kathmandu to Tibet, which presents astonishing views of the highest peaks like Kanchenjunga (8536m), Everest (8848m), and more peak ranges. Upon arrival at the Gongar Airport, you will drive to Lhasa, which takes approximately 2 hours. Overnight stay at the hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 04: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
We will have a sightseeing tour in Lhasa. We will visit the Sera Monastery. The name has been specified because the hills at the back of the monastery were filled with wild roses when it was constructed. Then, we will visit the Jokhang Temple, one of a scared pilgrimage spots enlisted in UNESCO's World Heritage list. Visiting Norbulingka palace, named also as the Jewel Park, is another important part of the sightseeing tour in Lhasa. Overnight stay at the hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 05: Second day sightseeing tour in Lhasa
This is another amazing day in Lhasa for sightseeing. On this day, we will explore around the Potala Palace which is reckoned as the Winter Palace of Dalai Lama. It holds more than 1,000 rooms and is 3-storeyed, occupying greater than 13 hectares of total land. Similarly, we will visit the Drepung Monastery constructed in the 14th century and is identified as the largest monastery in the world. Overnight stay at the hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 06: Lhasa to Shigatse (3900m/12792ft) 350 km, Duration: 7 hrs
We will, on this day, drive for around 7 hours to reach Shigatse from Lhasa. On the way, we will walk along the Tsangpo River and after that get to Khampa La lying at the altitude of 15,700ft. The awe-inspiring views of Yamdrok Lake and Ningdzingzonka- the immense snow-capped peak are absolutely appealing. We will, after that, move all along the lake and then drive to Gyantse, where we will explore around the well-known Pelkor Monastery. The monastery area has compound structures, including the Kumbum, which is identified as the largest structure in Tibet and holds the old Dzong or fort. Overnight at hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 07: Shigatse to Tingri (4150m/13612ft) visit Natang and Sakya Monastery, 274 km, Duration: 6 hrs
On this day, we will drive along the Friendship Highway which presents pleasing landscapes for us to enjoy on the drive. We will drive passing a small settlement named Lhatse, and traverse to Gyamtso La Pass set 5220m height. You will also make a trip to Natang Monastery lying 12 Km ahead from Shigatse. We will also visit the Sakya Monastery, where you will get to see the largest book on Earth in Osaka's large library. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast included.
Day 08: Tingri to Rongbuk (5000m/16400ft) 68 km, Duration: 2 hrs
We will leave Tingri and drive to south. We will also traverse to the Pang La Pass, lying at the elevation of 5150m. The majestic vistas of the snow-topped peaks- including Makalu and Shishapangma, are captivating to look at. As you reach Rongbuk, the amazing sights of Mount Everest appears in all its glory. At Rongbuk, you can visit the Rongbuk Monastery set up by Nyingmapa Lama in 1902. It is a holy site for Buddhists with meditation huts where monks reside. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast included.
Day 09: Explore Everest Base Camp (5250m/17220ft) and then Nyalam, 68 km, Duration: 7 hrs
We will drive ahead to Everest Base Camp (5250m) via a local bus or alternatively, you can walk 8 km. You may also take a horse. The magnificent vistas of the high peaks like Everest (8,848m), also popular as Mt. Chomolungma in Tibet, Mount Shishapangma (8,013m), the Cho Oyu Peak (8,201m) among many others will greet you. After having an awesome time at the Base Camp, we will then drive to Nyalam. Overnight at Guesthouse, breakfast included.
Day 10: Nyalam to Kathmandu (1337m/4385ft) 123 km, Duration: 5 hrs
This is our last day in Tibet. We will drive to Kathmandu with the amazing memories of the trip, passing the Bhote Koshi River and traverse the Chinese-Nepalese border. Overnight stay at the hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 11: Farewell
One of the representatives from Escape Himalaya will drop you off at the airport from where you will depart today.
