Booking the trip to the Everest Chola Pass with Escape Himalaya was everything I has hoped my trekking journey would be and much more! As a solo traveler, I was joined by a group of two other people who were with me on the trekking journey. Tina and her friend Sheryl from the United Kingdom joined me on the trip (or rather I joined them!) and as we began our Chola Pass Trek with their guide and porters as well as mine, I certainly was not expecting such gorgeous sublimity in the Himalayas! I had my hopes up but to actually see those sights up close is something else entirely! The upward trek really started from Tengboche as the elevations were exceeding 5100 meters at that point. The monastery at Tengboche was also very grand and had one of the most tranquil atmospheres even though it was a spiritual hub of the region. The people at the village were going about their lives and the sight of the monk children in crimson and red robes running around playing in with the gorgeous sight of the snowy mountain as the backdrop was a sight that certainly doesn’t get to be seen every day. The prospect of this itself is appealing to make you get off and have a trekking journey in this exotic little country filled with wonderful people and a view of the Himalayas that would make anything else seem puny and bland in comparison. Getting to the Cho La Pass at the a grand altitude of 5,420 meters was a real treat with an indescribable feeling of extensive euphoria and a fast paces rush of adrenalin coursing through the body! As we had our final descend to the valley at the final days of the trek, I was sad to see the sights go and leave the mountains and the villages behind.
Escape Himalaya made one of the best trekking experiences of mine be forever molded into an eternal love for Nepal. I am definitely going back for more trekking and hiking trails and the most cordial people and it is definitely is going to be with Escape Himalaya!
