Day 14 Farewell
Today, Escape Himalaya’s representative will drop you at the Tribhuwan International Airport. And, you will leave Nepal, hopefully with beautiful memories.
My friends and I booked the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek with Escape Himalaya recently. A pretty good trip commenced and the time spent in the mountains was astoundingly filled with natural beauties and wonderful sights of the mountains. The lakes at the crevasse in the tall mountains were the highlights of the trek for us. Travelling on the dirt trail along the river for the first days of the trek, we did not see snow. But the temperature certainly dropped gradually as we gained more elevation grounds. The first small lodge we stayed at had good meal and we enjoyed delicious dishes of rice with potato curry and lentils. I liked how there was the choice for both vegetarian and non vegetarian meals for us, I think this is a good option even if it seems a bit miniscule. Nevertheless, as we carried on further, travelling over hanging suspension bridges over gushing rivers, we finally reached Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar was beautiful and the views of the mountains from here were beguiling! We visited the Sherpa Culture Museum and the National Art Gallery as well here. We were taken to the Everest View Hotel as well and the wide larger-than-life sight of Everest in the distance felt like we could just reach out and touch it! The beautiful Yak pastures were soothing to look at and the vegetation of rice and potatoes on the cultivated fields that were scattered throughout the trail provided the sense of being in a snow globe! Hiking from Machhermo to the Gokyo Lakes, the sights changed from open spaces to trails that were enclosed with hills and mountains. The synchronic lakes came into view one after another and it was so adoringly beautiful that we stopped for several minutes just to sit and gawk at the beauty of it all. It was like we had entered an actual postcard!
Escape Himalaya did an amazing job with the arrangements of our trek and the way everything was handled was proficient and done with expert professionalism. Our transportations, accommodations and planning of the routes were scheduled brilliantly and their efficiency with services was top notch. Much gratitude to Escape Himalaya and all of its staff for making one of the best trekking dreams into a pleasurable reality for us!
