Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
As you arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be greeted by one of Escape Himalaya’s representatives. You will then be driven to your hotel where you can check in and relax as you have nothing else planned for the day. The representative will also explain the program further to you. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tours
This is the second day of Tibet Sightseeing Tours. You will excurse around different cultural heritage sites enlisted in the World Heritage Sites List by UNESCO. Visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred temple devoted to Lord Shiva, you would be encountering the pious environment of the temple and might even get a glimpse of the cremation ceremony of the Hindus in the bank of the holy Bagmati River. The Bouddhanath Stupa, the largest stupa on Earth, features an elaborative architectural integrity in the quiddity of the temple. The Kathmandu Durbar Square, where we can see speckled temple with its unique arts, is a marvelous reflection of Nepal’s monarchial days and posses within its premise the glory of medieval times. It also has the former Royal Palace, the Hanuman Dhoka, which was a central setting for government activities. The Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as “the Monkey Temple”, is situated at a hillock and presents a beautiful experience of visiting the temple in its natural serene surroundings. Also, you will need to get the Chinese Visa on this day. Overnight stay at the hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa
We will, on this day, fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa lying at the altitude of 3660m in Tibet, which presents wonderful views of the highest peaks like Everest (8848m), Kanchenjunga (8536m) and several other Himalaya Ranges. As you land at the Gongar Airport, you will need to drive to Lhasa which takes approximately 2 hours. For the rest of the day, we will just relax. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 04: Sightseeing Tour in Lhasa
We will, on this day, experience sightseeing in Lhasa. We will explore around several monasteries accompanied by a veteran guide. We will make a trip to Norbulingka, the palace of the Dalai Lama, also named as Jewel Park and is generally crowded during public holidays and festival times. We will also visit the Sera Monastery founded by Tsong Khapa. “Sera” in the Tibetan language means “wild rose”. The name has been derived since the hills at the back of the monastery were full of wild roses when it was constructed. Then, we will move to the Jokhang Temple, enlisted in UNESCO's World Heritage list, which is an important pilgrimage set for Tibetan Pilgrims. Overnight stay at the Hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 05: Second day sightseeing tour in Lhasa
We will explore around Lhasa today too. On this day, we will visit the Potala Palace which is the winter Palace of Dalai Lama. It is 3-storeyed and holds more than 1,000 rooms, and occupies above 13 hectares of total land. Likewise, we will visit the Drepung Monastery built in the 14th century as well. It is considered as the largest monastery in the world. Overnight stay at the Hotel, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 06: Lhasa to Kathmandu
This is our last day in Lhasa. We will fly to Kathmandu from Lhasa on this day, carrying with us amazing memories of the trip. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 07: Farewell
One of the representatives from Escape Himalaya will drop you off at the airport from where you will depart today.
