Mera Peak is one of the highest peaks in Nepal, lying at the height of 6654m. It widens out towards the south of Mount Everest and overlooks the fascinating valleys like Hongu and Hinku. Along with the thrills of experiencing an amazing peak climbing manifestation, you will also get to visit the long-established dainty Sherpa villages of the Solukhumbu region and pass through the verdant blooms of rhododendrons, vibrant lushness of blue pine acreages and florescent meadows of the Hinku Valley, which present to you the experience of trudging through the encompassments of nature’s beguiles. The Mera Peak Climb begins as you fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and stroll to Chutok La pass (2945). The walk is also brimming with jaded terrains and beautiful views of the valley. After that walk to Chutok, you will be traversing to Zatrawala Pass (4704m) which bestows wonderful views of Karyolung Peak, Kongdi RI, Numbur Himal and more. On the way, you would be passing through rhododendron forests to reach Kothe from where you will be moving to the settlement of Tangnang to enjoy the views of Kusum Kanguru Peak and many more peaks that surround the mountain.
Learning to use the climbing components such as the ice axe, crampons, ascender and harness, you will be walking to the Mera Base Camp lying at the height of 5300m, going across Mera La (5415m). Walking ahead to High Camp (5800m), the alluring panoramas of gigantic peaks including Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8475m), Baruntse (7220m), and more present a mesmerizing view of the mountainous tapestry. Then, the most rewarding day crops up- walking to the summit of Mera Peak! The views of Mt. Day 01 Arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
As you reach Tribhuwan International Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our airport representatives from Escape Himalaya. S/he will give you a short description about your trip and help you be transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02 Fly to Lukla (2804m) and trek to Chutok (2800m)
Mera Peak Climbing begins on this day as you fly to Lukla from Kathmandu. The journey of the flight is amazing since you will be flying over lush hills enveloped with emerald vegetations and verdant forests and snow-capped Himalayas. As you reach Lukla, you will get some brief idea about the trip and you will stroll to Chutok La pass lying 2945 high and then walk to Chutok for an overnight stay. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 03 Trek to Zatrabok (4600m) via Zatrawala Pass (4704m)
We will, on this day, walk to Zatrabok, lying at the elevation of 4600m which takes around 6 hours. We will then have a vertical way up the path to traverse to the Zatrawala Pass which is set 4704m high. The apex of the pass rewards you with wonderful views of Kongdi RI, Numbur Himal, Karyolung Peak and a lot of other peaks. Then, we will walk on a rather plain trail for approximately two hours and then descend all the way to Zatrabok. Overnight at guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 04 Trek to Kothe (3600m)
From Zatrabok, we will walk ahead and go across three edges. We will also have a steep way down to the Hinku River and pass through woods of rhododendrons on the western part of the Hinku Valley before we get to Kothe. The region looks amazing because of blossoming rhododendron flowers during spring. Overnight stay at the guesthouse, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
