Trip Overview

The Tsum Valley Trek takes you excursing through the isolated, secluded and scared valley of the Manaslu region. It is a scared Himalayan pilgrimage valley lying amidst the tall entities of the mountains. Also known as the Beyul Kyimolung, this is a serene Himalayan glen that offers spectacular views of the mountains like the Ganesh Himal, the Bouddha Himal and the Sringi Himal among many more snowy peaks. The Valley of Tsum gets its name derived from the Tibetan word “Tsombo” which translates to “Stunning”, and the valley embodies this cognomen to the fullest. The ancient idiosyncratic art and religions of the local people of Tibetan origin is marvelous to experience.

Beginning your trek from Soti Khola, you would be passing through verdant forests and traversing along the Budhi Gandaki River before you reach Labubesi, a dainty Gurung settlement. Ascending the stairs carved from stone, you would be strolling along the west bank of the ebullient river to reach the village of Jagat. The settlement is adorned with opulent monasteries, with their golden spires decorated with colorful prayer flags. At Chumling village, situated on the southern part of Sringi Himal, you can visit various gumbas and stupas that align the terrain. Making your way to the Chhokangparo village, you will be subjected to stunning views of the peaks of Himalchuli (7893m) and Ganesh Himal (7140m). During your Tsum Valley Trek, you will also visit the Ranchen Gompa, renowned as the Nunnery Gompa. You will also get the opportunity to visit the age-old monastery of Mu-Gompa as well as the Dhephu Doma Gompa. The Mu Gompa is a prime monastery in the area located at the base of Pika Himal (4865m).

All along your trekking trails, you would be encountering the unique cultures and traditions of the local people, and will get to have a closer look at their customs and rituals. The Tibetan Buddhist culture of the people residing in those areas can be greatly reflected on the array of temples and places of worship that you will come across your trekking journey. The panoramic views of the mountain vistas along with a terrain that is ornamented vibrantly with a florescent presence of blooming rhododendron flowers, beautiful pine and birch trees all encompassed in a stunning picturesque landscape will present you with an absolutely ravishing worldliness.
