    POPULAR PLACES

    • Manang

Manang is one of the commercialized towns you will pass on this trip. During your time in Manang, you will go over beguiling restaurants, bars, traveling gear shops, burger joints, and teahouses. On the off chance that you are feeling the loss of any rigging, you can discover it here. Other than that, the town, religious communities, and individuals are intriguing features of the excursion.

    • Muktinath

Muktinath is the blessed Hindu and Buddhist haven arranged on the serene grounds of the Annapurna area. Around the asylum, you can find 108 metal water spouts cast resembling a cow's head. Also, the water is considered holy water, and it is acknowledged that if one blurs in all of these taps, they will be freed from their sins. Similarly, a glowing fire remains burning due to the natural gas behind a grill essentially over a spring, whose sanctified water pours through a cow-headed spout.

    • Jomsom

Jomsom is another great town in this outing. From Jomsom, courses to different bits of the Manang are started. The other scenes and cultures found along this traveling course give a great understanding of the lifestyle of Nepali individuals of various ethnic and social affairs.

    Annapurna Circuit With Tilicho Lake

The Annapurna Circuit with Tilicho Lake is an extraordinary trekking experience in Nepal, combining the renowned Annapurna Circuit with a detour to the breathtaking Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. Starting from Kathmandu, trekkers drive to Besisahar and gradually ascend through lush forests, terraced fields, and picturesque villages, experiencing diverse cultures and landscapes. The trek leads to the stunning Manang Valley, offering magnificent views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and Machapuchare. The ultimate challenge is crossing the Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet), but the panoramic views from the top make it worthwhile. The detour to Tilicho Lake adds a remarkable element, with the lake nestled at 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), surrounded by towering peaks, offering an otherworldly atmosphere and an opportunity for additional acclimatization. While challenging, the trek to the lake rewards adventurers with serene landscapes and a sense of isolation. After visiting the lake, the trek continues over Thorong La Pass, descending toward Muktinath, and concluding in Jomsom. The trek requires careful preparation due to altitude and the physical demands, but it offers one of the most memorable and scenic experiences in the Himalayas.

    Travel Insurance

For the Tilicho Lake trek, it is essential to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical expenses, emergency evacuation, and high-altitude trekking. The trek reaches altitudes of 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), so it is important to ensure your policy includes coverage for altitude sickness and potential helicopter evacuation in case of an emergency. Many standard policies do not cover trekking above 3,000 meters, so make sure your insurance specifically covers high-altitude trekking in remote areas like Tilicho Lake. In addition to medical coverage, ensure your policy covers trip cancellation, lost or stolen belongings, and delays, as trekking in the Himalayas involves unpredictable conditions and remote locations. It’s also wise to choose a policy that provides 24/7 emergency assistance, as help can be difficult to access in the mountains. Popular insurance providers for trekkers include World Nomads, IMG (International Medical Group), SafetyWing, and Allianz Travel, all of which offer plans specifically designed for adventure travelers and high-altitude treks.

Annapurna Circuit Tilicho Lake Trek Map

    Good to Know

    • Season's Greetings

Pick the perfect time to go! Spring (March-May) and autumn (Sept-Nov) (Dec/Jan, which is a bit colder but weather perfect ) offer clear skies and stunning views.

    Additional Cost Planning

Apart from the major costs of yourTilicho Lake trek package, you will need to budget for certain additional fees. Here's a simple plan to help you budget while still having a good time:

    Trail Necessities:

    • Hot Showers: Tea houses may charge $2-3 for a warm shower, particularly at higher elevations.
    • Charging Electronics: Tea houses may allow you to charge your electronics for $1-3 per piece. Bringing a portable charger is convenient.

    Food & Treats:

    • Extra Meals: Depending on where you are, you may want to purchase more snacks or lunches, which cost between $5 and $10.
    • Drinks: Expect to spend $1-3 per water bottle. Other drinks may be more expensive, so use a reusable bottle and water filter to save money and prevent waste.

    Staying Connected:

    • Wi-Fi: While many guest houses offer Wi-Fi, it can be slow and expensive, typically costing US$2-3 per day. If you need internet access, consider downloading maps and entertainment beforehand.

Remember that prices might vary, so use these estimates as a guideline.

Please look at your spending patterns for drinks, snacks, and gifts.

Note: Carry Nepali Rupees for incidental expenses. While some tea shops accept US dollars, possessing the local currency eliminates conversion problems and ensures you have the correct amounts for smaller transactions.

By budgeting for these things, you'll be better prepared to deal with unexpected costs and enjoy your Langtang Valley route

    Trekking Duffel Bag

Duffle bags are commonly used for traveling, sports, outdoor activities, or temporary storage. They are used for carrying clothing, personal items, and electronics or sports gear during travel. The size of the duffle bag varies according to one's needs and requirements. They come in different sizes, from small to large travel duffle bags, and are capable of holding required gear during travel. Generally, duffle bags are used to carry loads up to 15 kg in all treks,

We arrange the duffle bags that hold up to 120 liters of storage capacity and are also waterproof, which helps in the rainy environment by protecting the materials inside the bag. Generally, the porter carries these duffle bags during the trek. Bring a small or medium carrying bag with personal materials and gadgets. Please remember that your luggage and suitcase will be securely managed and safeguarded at our hotel while you enjoy your trek, and we will quickly return to you once you complete your trek.

At Escape Himalaya, we provide a meticulously crafted checklist of essential trekking gear. This is our way of ensuring you're fully equipped for your Himalayan adventure, backed by our expertise and care in selecting the right gear for you.

    Down Jacket and Sleeping Bag

A down jacket, also known as a puffer jacket, is a quilted coat filled with soft feathers from a duck or goose. It's a popular choice for cold climates and higher altitudes due to its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Hikers, trekkers, and backpackers prefer them for their extreme comfort, lightweight, and compressibility, making them easy to pack without taking up much space. The down jacket we provide is ideal for wearing and sleeping during high-altitude treks, providing excellent insulation and comfort. Please return it once the trek is completed to preserve it for the next adventurers.

The sleeping bags we use are mummy-shaped, with a zip that opens and closes, keeping the top tight around you. They are used in cold and wet climates at high altitudes( -20°C to  -25°C maximum temperature), giving you protection and comfort. They are also lightweight and compact, making them easy to carry on long treks. The sleeping bag is returned after the trek, helping us maintain our gear for future adventurers.

      Everest base camp trek - Mar-Apr 2024

My 60 year old pals set out in hope on this adventure. In late March. We had our guide Raj Kumar and two porterd Janak and Ramesh. All three were stars. We changed our schedule - no problem. I would not have made it without Raj. I cannot thank him enough. Janak often took my back pack on steep climbs where I was struggling. This is a truly majestic and spiritual trek and I would encourage using Escape Himalaya and request this team of guide and porters if you want to give yourself the best chance of finishing and making best use of your time.

    Expand All (18)

Q1. Is a visa required for entry into Nepal?

Yes, the majority of travelers to Nepal will need a visa. You can acquire one upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or at land border crossings. Alternatively, you have the option to apply for a visa beforehand at a Nepalese embassy or consulate in your home country.

Q2. Will there be someone to pick me up at the airport when I arrive?

Yes, Escape Himalaya offers airport pickup services for our clients. We recognize the significance of a seamless arrival and strive to guarantee a trouble-free beginning to your journey. When you reserve a trek or tour with us, you can coordinate with our team to schedule a representative to greet you at the airport upon your arrival.

Look for our staff member holding a signboard bearing your name or the company's name for easy recognition. Providing us with your flight details ahead of time, including your flight number and estimated arrival time, enables us to make suitable arrangements for your pickup.

Q3. As a solo traveler, are you able to join a group for your journey?

Certainly! As a solo traveler, you're welcome to join one of the groups organized by Escape Himalaya. We frequently arrange group treks and tours that cater to individuals traveling alone. Joining a group not only allows you to meet other travelers but also offers the opportunity to share experiences and potentially lower costs.

When reaching out to Escape Himalaya, simply inform us that you're a solo traveler interested in joining a group. We'll then provide details about available group departures and assist you in selecting a trek or tour that aligns with your preferences and travel dates.

Q4. What are the types of hotel you use in Kathmandu?

Generally, we use the best available 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star category hotels for travelers' accommodation in Kathmandu. Meanwhile, travelers can upgrade or prolong accommodation with us as required.

The costs to prolong or upgrade hotel accommodation in Kathmandu may vary based on preferred hotel rates.

Q5. Would it be possible for me to upgrade my accommodation to a luxury hotel in Kathmandu?

Certainly! You have the option to upgrade your accommodation to a luxury hotel in Kathmandu. If you wish to elevate your stay from the standard 3-star hotel provided by Escape Himalaya, simply let us know, and we can arrange the upgrade for you. However, please bear in mind that availability and pricing for luxury hotels may fluctuate based on the hotel and the timing of your visit.

Q6. Which destinations are commonly favored by tourists visiting Nepal?

Nepal boasts breathtaking natural landscapes and a profound cultural legacy. Among the sought-after tourist spots are Kathmandu (the capital), Pokhara, Chitwan National Park, Lumbini (the birthplace of Lord Buddha), Bhaktapur, as well as the renowned trekking regions of Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Manaslu, and Upper Mustang.

Q7. Do we need a visa before coming to Nepal?

You can either obtain a visa from the diplomatic consulate office of Nepal in your respective country or apply for an “On Arrival” visa at the entry checkpoints of Nepal. On-Arrival Visa Fee at Entry Points of Nepal:

    • 15 Days – 30 USD
    • 30 Days – 50 USD
    • 90 Days – 125 USD

Indian nationals do not need to have a visa to enter Nepal however they need to bring an official document such as a Passport or Election card (issued by the Election Commission) that proves their identity.

Q8. Which one is better: Group or Solo (private) trek?

Escape Himalaya offers both group and solo trek to Everest Base Camp. However, to choose to join which tour style completely depends upon the traveler itself.

If you are happy to meet people from other parts of the world and join in an experience of a lifetime with fellow travelers, then going for a group trek is also best.

However, if you prefer freedom and flexibility, trekking solo (private) will give you the independence to set your own pace and choose your itinerary. You will have the flexibility to make spontaneous decisions. You will not be bound by a group schedule and choose to lead your journey as you wish and even modify the plan if needed.

Q9. How many days does it take to accomplish the classical Annapurna Circuit trek?

The Annapurna Circuit Trek normally lasts 16 to 18 days and covers 160 to 230 kilometres. Trekkers usually begin their adventure anywhere between Besisahar and Jagat, passing through woods, villages, and mountain passes such as Thorong La Pass.

Q10. What is the highest point of the Annapurna circuit Trek?

The Annapurna Circuit Trek includes Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes, at 5,416 meters (17,769 feet) above sea level. Beginning from Jagat at 1,100 meters (3,610 feet), hikers steadily ascend through diverse and beautiful landscapes, including Manang at 3370 meters (11,710 feet).

Q11. Is there internet availability along the Annapurna Circuit Trek route?

Yes, internet access is available for trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit trek. However, internet availability may vary along the way. While tea houses and hotels frequently have internet, availability might be limited, particularly in remote and high-altitude. Some larger villages may have mobile data connectivity, giving trekkers better internet access. Still, trekkers should be mindful of limited or no internet connectivity in some areas, and alternative communication methods should be explored if necessary.

Q12. What is the climate like in the Annapurna region?

The climate in the Annapurna area varies according to elevation. Temperatures at lower elevations normally range from 5 to 15 °C (41-59 °F), whereas higher elevations range from -5 to 5 °C (23-41 °F). During the winter months of December through February, higher elevations have lower temperatures and more frequent snowfall.

Q13. How can I plan my trip?

Booking a trip with Escape Himalaya Trek is a simple process that guarantees an enjoyable time.

Here are three easy actions to secure your adventure:

Step 1: Review the itinerary supplied on our website or via email conversation. We may also customize it to match your specific needs.

Step 2: Once you've selected the perfect itinerary, contact us to inquire about availability. Please check our website for departure dates as well.

Step 3: To confirm your reservation, a 20% deposit of the entire amount is required, along with a photocopy of your passport. Upon arrival in Nepal/Kathmandu, you can settle the outstanding balance with a credit card or cash in US dollars.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact us and we will respond soon with a clear answer.

Q14. What's the difference between the 18-day Classic Trek on the Annapurna Circuit and the 14-day Annapurna Circuit Trek?

The Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek is a traditional form of the Annapurna Circuit Trek, lasting 18 days from Muktinath to Marpha, Ghasa, Tatopani, Ghorepani, and Pokhara, with 16 days spent trekking. It also provides an additional 4-day trek afterward. This comprehensive package is great for those looking to explore this historic circuit in depth.

The 14-day Annapurna Circuit Trek allows you to discover wonderful Himalayan scenery, with 12 days of trekking. It begins in Muktinath and concludes in the delightful city of Pokhara, via Jomsom. It's an excellent choice for people seeking a shorter but equally interesting adventure.

Q15. When is the most suitable time to do the Annapurna Circuit Trek?

The best months to trek the Annapurna Circuit are March-May and September-November. Trekking is enjoyable during these months because of the dry weather, blue skies, and pleasant temperatures.

Q16. Is the Annapurna Circuit Trek difficult?

The Annapurna Circuit Trek involves obstacles such as long distances, high ascents, and rocky terrain, including the formidable Thorung La pass at 5,416 meters. Despite all the challenges, completing the walk is extremely gratifying, with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment. Trekkers must, however, be aware of risks such as avalanches and falling rocks while traversing Annapurna Mountain's remote and difficult terrain.

Q17. What permits are required for the Annapurna Circuit trek, and where can they be obtained?

The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card are necessary for the Annapurna Circuit trek. The permit charge is NPR 1000 for SAARC countries and NPR 3000 for non-SAARC nations. There is also a payment for the NPR 2000 TIMS card.

The Nepal Tourism Board or other approved travel agencies in Kathmandu or Pokhara are where you can receive these permits.

Q18. How fast do you walk along the trail?

Hiking speeds vary depending on fitness level and terrain. Most walkers maintain a pace of 2-3 mph (3.2-4.8 km/h), however this can be slower on difficult terrain, dipping to 1-1.5 mph (1.6-2.4 km/h).

Beginners may walk at 1-2 mph (1.6-3.2 km/h), while expert hikers may travel at 3-4 mph (4.8-6.4 km/h). It is critical to modify your pace and be mindful of others. If someone is faster, let them go, and if you are faster, wait for an appropriate spot to overtake gracefully.
