    Overview

Everest Base Camp Trek by Road via jeep drive is the popular alternative trail to Everest Base Camp with a drive start to Phaplu. Many travelers choose to start their EBC journey with a drive to Phaplu rather than choosing the flight to Lukla to have a unique experience. The classic Everest Base Camp Trek is a popular route to start by road drive. The journey lets you savor the experience of passing through ebullient glacial rivers, venerated emerald forests, and beautiful villages of the lower Khumbu region. Gratify your travel senses from the warm generosity of the ethnic people who reside in isolated villages and small settlements. The trek also lets you visit the Buddhist monasteries adorned with prayer flags on the golden spires of the monasteries that provide an excellent contrast of tincture against the ivory landscape. The views from this route are equally gorgeous, and walking on the trails of the Himalayas proves to be an awe-inspiring experience.

Moreover, we will drive to Phaplu via Salleri from Kathmandu to begin our classic Everest Base Camp jeep journey. From Salleri, we will also drive to Thamdanda, where awaits arresting views of Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Lirung, and more. We will also settle in Paiyun, a small Sherpa village lying amongst the verdancy of the rhododendron woods. On the way to Junbesi, another splendid Sherpa settlement emerges. We will pass through brimming florescence ambiances of magnolia, maple, rhododendrons, and birch woods and pass by Lamjura Pass at 3530m. We will also traverse the Taksindu Pass (3,071m) before reaching Nunthala.

The Short Classic EBC Trek will take you through several villages like Jubing and Paiyun before reaching Phakding. We will also reach Namche Bazaar, known as the entrance to the Everest region and a central commercial hub. Walking to Tengboche, observing excellent views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and more, and visiting the opulent Tengboche Monastery is an integral part of the trek. While trekking to the best point of this trek, the foot of the highest peak in the world, you will be amazed to see splendid views of Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and several other superb peaks. Likewise, the hike to Kala Patthar presents views to you that are likely to remain in your memories forever.

Furthermore, the Short Classic Everest Base Camp jeep drive Trek is a journey to explore the distinct culture and nature of Nepal. This classic package from Escape Himalaya renders non-compromising services to provide the ultimate hiking experience! You can also have alternate trekking options with our Everest Base Camp Trek, which starts with a flight to Lukla. The Everest Chola Pass Trek also offers you the option of excursing through the mountain pass with captivating natural quintessence. The Everest Gokyo Lake Trek lets you encounter the cerulean lakes at the bosom of the mountains. So join us in this adventure! You can also opt for a customizable itinerary as well if you wish to do so. The Everest Panorama Trek is another short journey to see Everest with easy and quick hiking.

            Good to Know

An Essential Guide to Everest Base Camp Jeep Drive Trek

Planning an EBC Jeep drive Trek? Here are the Top 10 key things to know for an extraordinary adventure:

            • Season's Greetings: Pick the perfect time to go! Spring (March-May) and autumn (Sept-Nov) offer clear skies and stunning views.
            • Pack Smart: Travel light! Choose a comfortable backpack and pack only essentials for the changing weather.
            • Go at Your Own Pace: Don't rush! Enjoy the scenery and listen to your body. Slow and steady wins the race.
            • Train Like a Champ: Get in shape! Hiking at altitude requires some physical preparation.
            • Mind Over Mountain: Be prepared for challenges! A positive attitude goes a long way.
            • Fuel Your Hike: Eat healthy! Choose nutritious food to keep you energized throughout the trek.
            • Gear Up for Success: Dress for the elements! Pack clothes and footwear suitable for mountain weather.
            • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water! Dehydration can be a problem at high altitudes.
            • Plan Your Path: Find a suitable itinerary! Choose a route that matches your experience and desired duration.
            • Respect the Locals: Be a good guest! Learn some basic Nepali phrases and be mindful of local customs.

Bonus Tip: Capture the memories! Take photos and videos to document your incredible journey.

            Additional Cost Planning

Apart from the significant costs of your EBC short trip package, you will need to budget for specific additional fees. Here's a simple plan to help you budget while still having a good time:

            Trail Necessities:

            • Hot Gas Showers: Tea houses may charge $5-7 for a warm shower, particularly at higher elevations.
            • Charging Electronics: Tea houses may allow you to charge your electronics for $4-6 per hour with solar power. Bringing a portable charger is convenient.

            Food & Treats:

            • Extra Meals: Depending on where you are, you may want to purchase more snacks or lunches, which cost between $5 and $20.
            • Drinks: Expect to spend $1-4 per water bottle. Other drinks may be more expensive, so use a reusable bottle and water filter to save money and prevent waste.

            Staying Connected:

            • Wi-Fi: While many guest houses offer Wi-Fi, they also provide Air-link and Everest-Link cards, which typically cost 700-800 rupees for 24 hours. If you need internet access, consider downloading maps and entertainment beforehand.

Remember that prices might vary, so use these estimates as a guideline.

Please look at your spending patterns for drinks, snacks, and gifts.

Note: Carry Nepali Rupees for incidental expenses. While some tea shops accept US dollars, possessing the local currency eliminates conversion problems and ensures you have the correct amounts for smaller transactions.

By budgeting for these things, you'll be better prepared to deal with unexpected costs and enjoy your Everest  Base Camp Jeep Drive!

              Gorgeous Views!

Excellent trekking experience with Escape Himalaya to Kala Patthar! Everything went seamlessly, and my guide ensured we were safe and comfortable at all times, even in the high altitude. Will definitely choose EH again when I am back in Nepal for more hiking! The country is so beautiful and just has so much to offer!

Amazing Manaslu Circuit with Phurba & Ram

Just back from a fantastic 2 week trek around the Manaslu Circuit including Larke Pass (5100m). The weather was perfect and the views were outstanding!!

Our guide Phurba Sherpa was excellent. Super knowledgeable and helpful at all times and always made sure we had a fantastic trip.

Our porter, Ram Badhadur Magar was also a rockstar. He was super professional and always arrived before us every day. He was also super friendly and helpful too.

Thanks to Phurba, Ram for always smiling and for a fantastic trip. Would highly recommend them to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal

              Everest base camp trek - Mar-Apr 2024

My 60 year old pals set out in hope on this adventure. In late March. We had our guide Raj Kumar and two porterd Janak and Ramesh. All three were stars. We changed our schedule - no problem. I would not have made it without Raj. I cannot thank him enough. Janak often took my back pack on steep climbs where I was struggling. This is a truly majestic and spiritual trek and I would encourage using Escape Himalaya and request this team of guide and porters if you want to give yourself the best chance of finishing and making best use of your time.
